I asked Michelle to share the story behind her shop. She took the time to answer a few of my questions. Enjoy!

Tell us a bit about you and your shop.

I took intensive jewelry classes when a friend who owns an accessories company wanted me to help him start a jewelry line. I got hooked on metalsmithing and wax carving. My shop sells handmade jewelry in mostly silver and gold with precious and semi-precious stone accents.

What inspires you to create?

There isn’t a singular source for inspiration. It’s practically everywhere..but I love nature as my favorite source of inspiration. You can’t do better than mother nature..merely pay homage.

What are your favorite materials?

Carving wax for the design process, and for finished pieces: sterling silver and gold.

What’s your favorite item in your shop? And why?

The snake tail line. It’s simple and elegant and easy to wear.

What else…

What I find that sets me apart and perhaps influence my approach to jewelry making is my background. It includes: fine art, design, architecture, interior design, and illustration.
